ISA Certified Arborist and Tree Nursery
Thomas Guggenheim, PhD
Owner, ISA Certified Arborist (IN-3447A)
We provide native trees (some non-invasive/non-native trees) and shrubs using a patented system (US Patent 9,414,547, Aug 16, 2016) to grow a containerized plant with a superior root structure in local soil, resulting in a low mortality rate after planting and rapid growth. Planting native species is essential for the restoration wildlife, providing food for animals, and insects that are essential for birds. Plants are guaranteed for 2 years if cared for properly.
We provide expertise before and after planting with 20,000 plants in stock (80 species of native trees, 28 species of native shrubs, 23 species of non-native but naturalized trees). Trees are 2 feet to 6 feet in height, shrubs are 1 foot to 5 feet in height and sold October through April (when dormant or pre-bud break). Plants are currently $15 to $35 each (plus tax). Posey County has 17 native oaks, the most important tree for wildlife, and all are in stock. Even if you have a small area, plant native species!

Tree and Shrub Services
We provide tree maintenance services within Vanderburgh, Posey, and southern Gibson counties.
We trim or prune trees to provide better air circulation, sunlight exposure, or tree structure, which can improve both health and longevity of planted trees. Our arborist can also consult on options available for the trees on site and what benefits could be gains from trimming or pruning existing trees.
Tree Removal and Stump Grinding
The last solution, but if the tree is a safety threat or potentially beyond restoration, we will recommend its removal. When compared to aesthetic appeal and functionality, safety always comes first. We can also grind stumps and amend soil back to its original state.
As an ISA certified Arborist, help on tree selection and location can be discussed during the installation of new trees. If replacements are needed, options for replacements which can enhance the overall wildlife in the area without issues are available from the wide variety of options available at the nursery.
If your tree has health issues, treatment measures capable of getting rid of the health issues will be reviewed with you prior to any treatment. Our goal is to have trees remain whenever possible.
One of the best ways to understand the wide variety of options available for Southern Indiana is to come visit the nursery. Species are available for spring flowering, bright autumn colors, winter interest, or bird/deer wildlife support. Let us know and stop by to see what could be planted.
